Julie C. Antoine, Drug & Alcohol Counsellor, Elder in Residence (School District)
Julie C Antoine is an Aboriginal woman from the Bonaparte Indian Band. She's married to Archie Williams and is a proud mom, foster parent, grandma, and great-grandma. Julie loves supporting her family and traveling with them to rodeos across BC, Alberta, and the USA.
She survived the Kamloops Indian Residential School and went to high school in Ashcroft, BC. Julie has a background in Native Human Services, sexual abuse counseling, and drug and alcohol counseling. Even after retiring, she and her husband Archie stay busy as "Elders in Residence" for three schools, sharing their knowledge and supporting communities.
Julie has worn many hats, including being a rodeo secretary and timer, and running workshops to empower people to "Dare to Dream." Her work history includes roles in economic development, business development, and counseling for various organizations. Starting from an early age from churning butter, ranching, self-employed selling various products such as worms, crafts, and cooking for work camps.
Raised with Culture and Traditions is still a big part of her life.
