Jennifer Anderson, Metal Worker

My name is Jennifer Anderson and I am a Red Seal Metal Fabricator with the City of Vancouver.  My 20’s were spent trying to decide what my career was going to be after many setbacks. First was the Visual Arts Diploma, which lead to the Graphic Design certificate, which lead to no job prospects in 2008. I needed a career that was going to be sustainable.  The thought of being a mechanic crossed my mind on more than one occasion. But the idea of being a woman in field was daunting. Until I heard about a trades discovery program where I could try many trades before committing. I signed up, took an interest in metal fabrication, and the rest is history.
