Pauline Macdonald, Supply Chain Management
Pauline Macdonald is an accomplished and innovative Procurement and Supply Chain professional with 30+ years’ progressive experience in private and public sector environments including local Government, Defense (Marine and Aviation), Emergency Services, Education and Electrical wholesale businesses. She has worked for Babcock International Group for 10 years within various Marine business units before moving herself and her husband from Scotland to England, UK for 3 years then to Canada to take up a new challenge as the role of Head of Procurement and Supply Management for Babcock Canada. Pauline believes life is too short for regrets hence jumped at this opportunity to grow her international professional knowledge and explore a new country. She uses her wide range of knowledge and experience in Procurement and Supply Chain to help her mentor those who want to progress and grow in this profession and works hard to pay forwards the opportunity she was given to excel in this profession. She is logical in her approach and always looks for ways to improve current practices and systems. She is a strategic thinker with experience in all aspects of Procurement and Supply Chain including bidding/tendering and thinking outside of the box to design alternative supply chain solutions. One of the proudest accomplishments includes leading on the 4 largest collaborative contracts for the Scottish Fire Service which saw 8 services agree on standard clothing, PPE, breathing apparatus and operational equipment. Another is leading on the transformation programme for Babcock and creating new teams with additional skillsets in a new country. Pauline received her education at the Adam Smith College with her degree in the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and at the University of Glamorgan (Wales, UK) with a Masters in Procurement, both while raising her two sons. She is also SCMP accredited since moving to Canada. Since moving to Canada with her husband, Pauline now has a season ticket for the local hockey team – The Victoria Royals - and enjoys going to their games. She also enjoys spending time with friends.
